The adversity that David “Bomber” Pearce faced during his professional boxing career, was a significant driving factor and inspiration for the Team helping and inspiring others.

This ultimately led to NewportsRocky granting financial grants to sporting teams and individuals within South Wales and eventually forming the registered charity: The David “Bomber” Pearce Legacy Charity 1182541.

The statue of David “Bomber” Pearce that stands proudly on the banks of the River Usk, opposite Friars walk in the City of Newport. An inspiring reminder that you can achieve your dreams through adversity and against all odds.

The DBPL charity aims are:

To date the DBPL have supported over 50 different sports and raised over £100k. The Charity strive on a daily basis to maximise the advancement of sport within the South Wales region.
